Sound is a design specification, not a side effect. Inside the acoustic tuning that gives each product line its recognisable voice.
Every Akrapovič product has an acoustic target that is defined before the first prototype is built. Chamber geometry, packing density and end-cap volume are all tuned against that target — and then measured in the sound lab against it.
The result is a family resemblance across the catalogue: an inline-four Slip-On and a V-twin Evolution Line sound like themselves, but you can hear they were designed by the same team.
For homologated products, this tuning has to hit a legal decibel target as well as a subjective one — a much harder engineering problem than simply making an exhaust louder.
